Integrated Systems For Fenceline / Ambient Air

Many Industries are Required to Monitor Pollutants that Cross their Fence Line.  Most Notably is the Requirement for Refineries to Monitor Benzene at their Fence Line per the 2019 RSR Requirements.  Many Industries are Required by Consent Decree and Permit Applications to Monitor Priority Pollutants and Toxic Gases at their Fence Line.  Also, for Worker Safety Many Industries Monitor Toxic Compounds in the Working Area. CAI has a Wide Range of Analyzer and System Capabilities for any Ambient air or Industrial Hygiene, Safety and Air Quality Applications.

These Systems are Generally Open Path or Multi-point Devices

  • These Differ from General Toxic Gas Detection such as H2S, CO etc. in that the Toxic Gases in this Application are Generally being Detected in Single Digit ppm Concentrations or Lower
  • Includes Fence Line Benzene Monitoring, Monitoring for Toxic Compounds Around the Facility (VCM, Acrilonitrile, BTEX, etc.) These are Generally Multi-point Samples Taken from many Locations and Transported Back to the Analyzer
  • Many Workplaces Have Hazardous Components which Should be Monitored for Employee Exposure
    • These may Include – Acrylonitrile, Styrene, Vinyl Chloride Monomer (VCM) and Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Plants, Benzene, Toluene, Xylene (BTX) , Ethylbenzene, 1,3 Butadiene, Phosgene,
  • The Analyzers Required for Toxic and Hazardous Gases in the Process Area or at the Fence Line Requires Careful Consideration of the Range and Action Level Required
  • Generally Concentrations will be in Single Digit ppm or Lower, with Action Levels in the 10 ppb to 5 ppm Range
  • Mass Spectroscopy is Often a Great Match for these Applications Because they often Require Rapid, Multi-Point Sampling and Trace Level Multi-component Analysis
  • Open Path TDLA is Also Employed for Certain Components Such as HF, HCl, Ammonia and Some Hydrocarbons
